ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Vicki Wilburn started writing poetry while a Sophomore in high school in 1965. A few years after graduating from the University of Kansas she had her first publication, a poem in Dawn Magazine in the 1980s. It reflected the high inflation of the time and what many people were experiencing.

The author recalls Christmases as a child of a financially challenged family. A bag of plastic soldiers or a small sack of Christmas candy was shared with 3 siblings. Other gifts through the years were practical ones like shoes or underwear, etc. Like Tai, the character in this book, the author recalls trying to stay up with a brother on Christmas Eves to catch Santa but always falling asleep.

But gifts were not most important. Christmas dinners with the family with everyone’s favorite foods and prepared with Love was the gift. The best Christmas gift of all!
